H&R sway bars are cold-formed and heat-treated, with forged seamless bar ends. Each bar is shot-peened to improve durability, checked for dimensional correctness, and powder coated. H&R sway bar bushings are made of a special urethane/Teflon compound to eliminate squeaks and groans, and never need lubrication.

All sway bars are 100% German made at the H&R ISO9001-certified manufacturing facility.

Also referred to as a stabilizer, the sway bar is a large torsion bar that connects the suspension control arms to the body, through bushings and mechanical links. To limit body roll (sway) when cornering, the sway bar acts as a large torsion spring, transferring energy from one wheel to the opposite wheel of an axle pair.

Different sway bar diameters and stabilizer link configurations can be used to alter body roll, independent of suspension spring rates, and to adjust vehicle steering characteristics.
